Paris is unequalled in the field of the classical arts, as demonstrated by its rich heritage and the collections housed in its many museums.

The Louvre, the largest museum in the world both by size and by the wealth of its collections,is a prime example. Visitors to the Louvre discover both western art dating from the Middle Ages through 1848 as well as that of many ancient civilisations. Second to the Louvre is the Musée d’Orsay, which houses art from the period 1848

to 1914.

There are many other more modest museums in Paris with rich collections. Take, for example, the Musée Jacquemart-André, the Musée du Luxembourg and the Musée Cognacq-Jay.

There are numerous castles and monuments in the region around Paris, as well, including the not-to-be-missed Palace of Versailles.

Paris is also a nice city for students, given its quality of life, many subsidies (housing subsidies, student social security, etc.), its cultural offer and influence and, of course, its cuisine! It was chosen as the best city in the world for students by the Top Universities website.
